Policies
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations at or more than 30 days from the scheduled shift incur no fee.
Cancellations between 7 and 30 days are subject to a 25% charge as replacing the shift becomes more difficult.
Cancellations within one week are subject to full charge as replacing the shift becomes nearly impossible.
We are happy to waive fees if your canceled shift gets filled or is changed to another site for that contract.
Commitment to Quality
My goal is for your clients to not realize or feel that anything is out of place while you are out of town and to have your staff enjoy working with me as much as they do you. With this goal in mind, I feel it is important that I maintain detailed communication regarding what your expectations are and what I can provide for you. For most clinics this is just a formality as you already have well mannered and maintained clients, follow the law, will pay promptly, and have reasonable expectations. If you have any questions about the terms, or would like to discuss or negotiate them please reach out to me via email.
Service Area
Our service area is the Greater San Antonio to Austin I-35 corridor. We currently do not serve New Braunfels proper.
Clinic Walk-through
We request that you fill out and return the "How My Clinic Runs" questionnaire to ensure spectacular results. Due to scheduling issues at this time we can not guarantee and in person walk-through before shifts scheduled within 2 calendar months.
Practice, Protocol, Persistence
I strive to provide complete and detailed notes on any patient I see. If you have specific record keeping policies or requirements please let me know and/or advise staff members to be able to show me in person. Additionally, I typically require a way for me to log cases/clients that need your specific attention and/or had send out testing for you to call back when you or the results are returned. In return, I do request complete notes or a case summary and treatment plan for any ongoing cases for me to utilize wherever possible. I will do my best to fit into your system and style of doing things so please make me aware of any quirks or concerns you have and I am more than happy to accommodate.
Controlled Drug Use Rule
I have a DEA license in good standing in addition to my state license. However, to dispense (controlled) medications from your stock I will need a signed letter authorizing me to work under your or your clinic’s DEA license. Please provide appropriate keys or codes to either myself, a trusted staff member, or leave them in a designated location prior to my arrival.
Exotics and Livestock Work
I am willing to see any species except primates, monkeys, and caecilians. I am not board certified in exotics or residency trained. If you desire coverage for non canine and feline patients that should be disclosed at time of scheduling.
I do not do livestock house calls or large volume herd work at this time. I am USDA Category Two certified for the completion of health certificates.
Surgical Care Policy
For the first shift, for your staffs' sanity and mine please do not schedule any surgical procedures and make arrangements with your staff to refer emergencies to ER.
For subsequent shifts, once mutually agreed upon, I am happy to perform simple soft tissue surgeries, dentals, spays, neuters, and emergency services for canine and felines.I will ask you to provide me with your standard anesthetic and post-op care procedures for these surgeries for continuity purposes.
Any exotics or mixed animal surgical work will be approved on a case by case basis.
Medication Refill Guidelines and Call Backs
I am happy to refill non-controlled medications according to your clinic's policies as long as a valid VCPR exists. I am happy to return lab results or provide follow-up calls for you while you are gone. Please have a staff member provide me with the results/a list of those you would like me to complete. Case notes regarding your treatment plan/diagnostic suspicions before send-out are appreciated for this portion of the service.
